A dominant scorer, Bryant won five NBA championships and the 2008 MVP Award with the Los Angeles Lakers. Although later seasons were marred by injuries, he surpassed Michael Jordan for third place on the NBA all-time scoring list in December 2014 and retired in 2016 after scoring 60 points in his final game. In 2018, Bryant earned an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for Dear Basketball. In 2008, Bryant was named Most Valuable Player and carried his team to the NBA Finals, where they lost to the Boston Celtics. Bryant played on both the 2008 and 2012 U.S. Olympic teams, winning consecutive gold medals.

In July 2003, Bryant was charged with one count of sexual assault on a 19-year-old female hotel worker in Colorado. Bryant said he was guilty of adultery but innocent of the rape charge. Some unknown facts about the Magna Carta

In 13th century England, there was a tyrannical monarch by the name of King John. He had exploited his monarchical powers and made many failed military advancements. The people of England were so infuriated by the monarch’s policies, that the country was on the verge of civil war. That is when a group of 25 barons came up with a document that ensured liberty, property and right to lives. It was an important document created by the civilians that the monarch was bound to follow. The Magna Carta showed the importance of citizens in a country, and could be seen as a democratic act. Many years later, it formed the pillar of the U.S constitution. Here is a list of 5 unknown facts about the Magna Carta

1) Nobody knows the writer of this document

The Magna Carta is Latin for Great Charter for Freedoms. It was signed on 15th June 1215. It is a known fact that under the pressure of a civil war to be broken out in his reign, King John Signed the political document. But in reality, nobody knows who it's actual author is.

2) There were plenty of rejected drafts before the Magna Carta

The rule of England had been one of corruption and exploitation. People had been trying to free themselves from such cruel Monarchs for ages. In 1100, Henry I had signed a 20-clause document and promised to provide more justice in his reign. However, he did not keep many of his promises and hence that attempt was proven to be a failed one.

3) The first treaty of Magna Carter was failure too

The Magna Carter was first intended to cease war between King John and his nobles. But King John was successful to annul the treaty in 1215. He had personally petitioned the Vatican to oppose Carter and excommunicate the rebels. It was later in 1225, a 9-year old new king Henry III reissued an abridged version of the carter.

4) There are three clause from the Magna Carta that are still British laws

The Magna Carter was the first model of the concept of a Constitution. So when the British constitution was under construction, the great political leaders took help from the Magna Carta. Of all the laws stated there, three specific laws are still relevant. These laws are freedom to the Church of England, granting customs and liberties of the city of London, and forbidding the arbitrary arrest and sale of justice.

5) No “Original” copy of the Magna Carta exists today.

That’s right! In 1215 a bunch of the document was written on the parchment sheet and distributed among the people of England. Four of those copies have survived the test of time. Of those four copies, two are preserved in the British Library today. But after 1215, a newer version came out in 1225 and 1297. And hence, there is no “original” copy of this document on earth.

What do you think about the Magna Carta or the great Charter of Freedoms? Do you think that the citizens of a country should decide its law?

[Disclaimer: This article is not meant to be a clinical advisory article and/or for diagnostic purposes and is meant to be for educational purposes only.]

The tragic death of Sushant Singh Rajput came in the backdrop of him suffering from depression for almost 6 months. Depression, as a mental disease in India, has been heavily stigmatised since decades. The perception of the common man is that depression is not a real disease, that it is just a phase and will resolve itself. However, these cannot be more untrue. Depression is very much an actual disease, one if allowed to go untreated can often lead to the manifestation of suicidal tendencies.

1) “Depression is not an actual disease.” - MYTH

Depression is very much an actual mental health disorder. I’m not going to leave the psychopathology of depression to the doctors but suffice it to say that depression can be the culmination of various factors including your own genes, exposure to various stresses, and various drugs.

2) “Depression will resolve itself.” - MYTH

Depression can be overcome by people on their own. However, it is always advisable that one consult a psychiatrist regarding these matters.

3) “Depression can affect people of any age .” - FACT

Although there are certain age groups that are more vulnerable to depression, it can affect people of any age, race, gender, caste, or ethnicity. Yes, it can also manifest in children.

4) “Depression only develops after you’ve gone through something bad.” - MYTH

As mentioned before, depression can be a result or a culmination of various factors. One need not have gone through something terrible to develop depression. It can also result from childbirth(postpartum depression), hormone imbalance, after surgeries(post-surgical depression), after a trauma(Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) as well as external stresses.

5) “One cannot overcome depression if he/she is weak” - MYTH

Depression is a disease, a malfunction of one’s brain chemistry. It has nothing to do with one’s character. If one is experiencing symptoms of depression, he/she should seek professional help at the earliest so that a proper treatment plan can be devised without delay.

And the sunshine said a new hello to the onset of his dawn
The dawn of life
The dusk of living life independently
The dusk to the road of MYSELF
Who are elderly ?

They are grandparents! Our grandparents who wait to savour one look of ours , they wait to see our eyes draining whatever youth and childhood is left in them , they are old uncles and aunts who look forward to catch hold their sons and daughters from their typically busy routines, they are dusty books and broken letters waiting for the parchment to come back to them from heaven, they are those teary eyes who water with happiness, pain, trust, little moments and what not, they are independent steps to finally do something for themselves, they are those final moments of life in which one mutters to god about every small detail of their life about how they escaped their parents when they did not do well in exams and lie, apologizing to their husbands and wives for those little moments which they stole to eat something restricted from the kitchen, about the several times they had a chance but couldn’t meet their grandchildren, about the various unfinished friendships they had to escape to grow in life. It's the journey of life , it started on a train to this world wherein people love to love and hate, judge, explore, grow, earn etc. and it ends when the sudden wave oscillates on the damp sand to take along those last imprints of a humans feet.
